Company: Movements, Deals and Drinks
Company: Movements, Deals and Drinks was published one year after Company Drinks was set up as a community-led cultural enterprise in Barking and Dagenham, London.
The book opens a window onto the different aspects and aspirations of the project, from the logistics of making and trading drinks, to cultural and political motivations and practicing new economical cultures. It is part of the project’s making, and reflects its real time production, messiness and clarity.
The discursive backbone of the book are Miranda Pope’s four main project essays: ‘Company’, ‘Movements,’ ‘Deals’ and ‘Drinks’. Each chapter follows and analyses different stages of the productive and reproductive cycle of the project, describing and expanding on the multiple anticipated and practiced meanings within the project’s initial four-word title.
