Company: Movements, Deals and Drinks

with Miranda Pope
2015

Company: Movements, Deals and Drinks was published one year after Company Drinks was set up as a cultural enterprise and community economy in Barking and Dagenham, London.

The book opens a window onto the different aspects of the project, from the logistics of making and trading drinks, to political movements and economy as a cultural practice.

The discursive backbone of the book are Miranda Pope’s four main project essays: ‘Company’, ‘Movements,’ ‘Deals’ and ‘Drinks’. Each chapter follows and analyses different stages of the productive and reproductive cycle of Company Drinks, describing and expanding on the multiple anticipated and practiced meanings within the project’s initial four-word title.
