The International Village Show was Myvillages’ first prominent museum solo exhibition. The two-year-long exhibition and a parallel program of events featured Myvillages’ work across sixteen rural communities in the shared space of an exhibition at the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst (Museum for Contemporary Art) in Leipzig, Germany.
Partners, products, and activities from dispersed rural projects and networks were brought together, connecting rural communities through an ambitious international program, creating a new place for rural issues. In the accompanying program of events, guests and partners were invited to run and share activities in the Gartenhaus or join trips to Leipzig’s surrounding areas. Every three months offered a new iteration of the show, eight in total, each featuring an encounter between two villages or landscapes.
