Rural Undercurrents – Getränke, die wir kennen, und die wir nicht kennen.
The Municipal Kitchens exhibition reimagines communal eating in cities. The exhibition gathers works by international and local artists and collectives that expose the current state and injustice of food systems, as well as ones that propose new forms of community-based eating.
“Rural Undercurrents” is a leading topic in the current Rural School of Economics programme by Myvillages, set up as a trans-local co-learning infrastructure by Kathrin Böhm and Wapke Feenstra in 2019. At nGbK Myvillages opens a series of shelves to collect and connect land-based knowledge that goes into the making of beverages. Drinks on display from ongoing collaborations and research, include horsemilk capsules from Friesland, BAD Cola and Sour Brexit from Company Drinks. Drinks from colleagues and friends in Berlin will be added.
Curated and organised by nGbK work group: Johann Arens, Hanna Baumann, Miriam Lowack, Alicja Rogalska, Cherry Truluck
