Money Distribution Machine and Other Useful Contraptions
In 2014, Peckham Platform, based in south London, commissioned Kathrin to work with service users of Three Cs, a Peckham-based organisation for people with mental health challenges. Hands-on workshops over the duration of 6 months explored and produced ideas around money, economy and production devices towards a new shop front for the organisation.
The exhibition Money Distribution Machine and Other Useful Contraptions later invited gallery audiences to explore a range of desired appliances for life that came out of conversations and workshops. The centrepiece of the exhibition was the Apparatus, a multifunctional device that continues ideas from the workshops, and turns the gallery into an ad-hoc production site for public distribution. for example coin pressing, voucher printing, plate spinning, and seed-bomb making.
With additional exhibits by Tim Hunkin, Technology Will Save Us, Cabaret Mechanical Theatre, Blake Fall-Conroy, Colour Makes People Happy, Carys Davis and Rosalie Woods.
